Coachella Valley Water District
The following are PROHIBITED:
- Watering ornamental grass on public street medians
- Watering outdoor landscaping within 48 hours after rainfall
- Applying water to any hard surface such as driveways, sidewalks and asphalt
- Fountains and water features must operate with a recirculating system
Fines range from $50 - $200 for violating the above rules.
Customers must reduce outdoor water use by at least 36% of their personalized "water budgets" or face penalties ranging from $2.51 to $10.03 for every 100 cubic feet of excess use. CVWD uses tiered water rates.
Indio Water Authority
- Outdoor irrigation allowed only Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday between 6pm and 10am
- Irrigation repairs must be done between 6am and 10am
- Tiered rates apply
- Applying water to driveways and paved surfaces is prohibited
- All decorative fountains and ponds must be turned off.
Desert Water Agency
The following are PROHIBITED:
- Watering grass on street medians and roadsides
- Watering landscapes during and up to 48 hours after measurable rainfall
- Washing driveways, parking lots and roadways
- Fountains, except those that rely on recycled water or support pets.
Outdoor watering is limited to Monday, Wednesday and Friday before 7am and after 7pm.
DWA Board voted 7/7/2015 to use a combination of grant funding and existing budget to create a $1 million turf buy back program for the 2015/2016 fiscal year. The program is in the process of finalization - applications are not being accepted at this tie. Customers are asked to wait patiently for further information. Customers must have lawn in place (dying lawn is acceptable) at the time of their pre-conversion inspection in order to qualify for a rebate.
Mission Springs Water District
Outdoor watering is limited to Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday before 6 am and after 6pm. From June through September, outdoor watering is also allowed on Saturday during those hours. Fines range from $100 to $200
Myoma Dunes Mutual Water Company
Lawn watering is limited to Monday, Wednesday and Friday before 7 am and after 8pm. Other plant material may be watered any day of the week during those hours. Fines range from $100 to $500
